My collection Reflection is inspired by every single collection I’ve made during my time at Parsons (both the ones shown on this website and others not shown). During my first two years, a lot of my work focused on my heritage as an Israeli American of Moroccan descent, which is reflected in the embroidery and textile design shown in these pieces. The designs that grace the garments, however, are not purely inspired by traditional Moroccan design; they are taken from my previous collection, RENEWAL. Much of the fabrication is taken from RENEWAL as well, particularly the tulle elements, as well as some of the silhouette inspiration. Much of the silhouette inspiration was taken from In Case of Emergency, particularly the cropped elements and oversized sleeves. The use of pink throughout the collection is an homage to my DOLLHOUSE era. This collection represents the closing of my chapter as a Parsons student and allows me to feel ready to open myself up to new experiences and inspirations.
